SOLAD Homeless Ministry wants to help people throughout the year by providing for those in need.

​

For many people, the holiday season can be filled with stress, anxiety, and hardship. However, for people experiencing homelessness these feelings are amplified. They often struggle to find food and other necessities during the holidays because their resources are limited.

 

We can help by giving away care packages. By doing this, we demonstrate kindness and show someone they are appreciated. The care packages provide more than just food, they include some basic items such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, and socks.

If you ever wanted to give more than just money, now you can.  Leave a few care packages in your car.  The next time you see someone in need give them one.

​

For those of you who want to donate, we need the following items for the care packages

• Toothpaste

• Toothbrush

• Soap / Body Wash

• Shampoo & Conditioner

• Lotion

• Deodorant

• Wash Cloths

• Socks

• Gloves

• Hats

• Water

• Snacks

 

You can drop off items for the care packages or pick up packages to distribute on the 1st Sunday of the month by going to the Harborside Hotel located at 6400 Oxon Hill Rd, Oxon Hill, MD 20745.
